Knot Art is a New Zealand-based consultancy with more than 30 years of practical experience across tourism, major events, conferences, and integrated experience design.
Founded in Wellington and active across Aotearoa, we’ve helped shape projects at every scale
— from local festivals and destination developments to large-scale exhibitions, cultural programmes, and international showcases.

We’re known for straight-talking advice, strong industry insight, and the ability to turn complex challenges into clear, achievable outcomes.

1. Tourism  Consulting

We help tourism experiences become market-ready for the business events world. That means shaping your product to suit group travel, incentive buyers, or conference add-ons — and ensuring you’re operationally ready to deliver with confidence.
We work with operators, RTOs, government clients, and experience designers to improve flow, packaging, pricing strategy, and itinerary fit. It’s not about big budgets — it’s about clear positioning and practical readiness. 

2. Events & Experience 

We offer independent support to producers, planners, and organisers at any stage of their event. Whether you’re managing a community festival, exhibition, live show, or corporate gathering, we help you think through the moving parts — venues, tech, AV, entertainment, suppliers, and flow.
We’re not here to take over. We’re here to support your thinking, sharpen your plans, and help you deliver smarter, more joined-up experiences.

Damien Sprey
Managing Director

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in the events and tourism industry, Damien Sprey brings depth, edge, and people-first thinking to every project.
From international concerts and public exhibitions to luxury incentive programmes, national conferences, and regional tourism development, Damien’s background spans the full spectrum of the experience economy.

• In the field with delegate groups and production crews
• At the strategy table with clients, government agencies, and operators alike
• Across logistics, storytelling, brand alignment, and experience flow 

Damien is here to lead Knot Art into its next chapter.

He brings a renewed focus on human-centred strategy, creative clarity, and helping clients succeed through insight, structure, and honest collaboration.
